The deadline for hired students to submit their Declaration of Eligibility / Hiring Forms is September 30th or when the budget has been fully committed (whichever comes first).

Work Study Information

Work Study operates from September 6, 2011 to March 2, 2012. The rate of pay is $10.24 per hour plus 4% vacation pay. Students are permitted to work a maximum of 180 hours overall, or until March 2 2012, whichever comes first.

Students may work no more than 12 hours in any given week, and employers who wish to retain their students for the full duration of the program will need to stretch the 180 hours over this period.

Student Eligibility, Hiring and Payment Procedures

Students must:

- have qualified for OSAP assistance; OR have qualified for student financial aid from a province / territory other than Ontario (confirmation required); OR are receiving Band funding from the Aboriginal Student Support Program (confirmation required);

 

AND

 

- have registered in at least 60%* of a full course load (no course load averaging) for the September to April session or September to December session.  *40% (no course load averaging) for students who have documented permanent disabilities.

 

Students registered in Toronto School of Theology programs are NOT eligible to participate in this program. 

Once hired, please complete the following form: Declaration of Eligibilty - Hiring Form.It is crucial that students submit the completed 'Work-Study Hiring Form' to Admissions and Awards immediately after being hired; the form will be available online as of September 6th.

You may begin working immediately. The completed form is returned to Admissions and Awards. Once a student's eligibility and registration have been verified, a letter of employment and payroll information will be mailed to the student's ROSI mailing address.

Work Study Students must have their direct supervisor sign this monthly pay time sheet once completed and submit it to Susan Lishingman in UC Room 102 by the assigned payroll deadline.

A student may be hired for only one Work-Study position.
