Professor Walid Saleh Wins Konrad Adenauer Research Award

Congratulations to Professor Walid Saleh, founding director of the Institute of Islamic Studies at the University of Toronto and a University College faculty member, who has received the Konrad Adenauer Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

The prize, valued at  €60,000, honours researchers in Canada whose discoveries and insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and beyond, and whose personality and research contribute to the academic and cultural exchange between the Federal Republic of Germany and Canada.

Professor Saleh will give the Konrad Adenauer Lecture, entitled “The Qur’an between the Past and the Present,” on Monday,  June 19, at the German Ambassador’s residence in Ottawa.
