Rebecca Thorpe

Rebecca Thorpe, the centre's Business Officer, joined the SDS team in September 2012 and has built a strong reputation in administrative positions across the University over the past 8 years. During her time as an SDS undergraduate, her advanced academic research explored the different experiences of trans* parents in Canadian and American education systems.  After graduation, she was invited to conduct graduate work at San Francisco State University’s National Sexuality Resource Centre, where she presented on the educational potential of female pleasure in feminist pornography. Her most recent independent research focused on the relationship between trans* experiences and new media, employing YouTube videos as pedagogical tools for players of popular video games to learn about gender variance.
