UC Building Revitalization

The UC Building Revitalization promises to respect the building’s heritage while increasing study space and improving accessibility for students.  The project will bring UC into the future while celebrating its past. The magnificent East and West Halls will be transformed into a new library and reading room, respectively; while Croft Chapter House will become a state-of-the-art conference centre for students and faculty to share knowledge and expertise.  A new student-run café on the 3rd floor will provide students with space to meet, relax, and engage in group projects while enjoying refreshments.

The revitalized library will also be strategically located next to the sUCcess Commons, a new hub for students' academic and personal skills development. This centre will house the UC Writing Centre, as well as career and mental health services. The sUCcess Commons will be, essentially, a one-stop-shop for students seeking guidance in both academics and life in general.

Our learning spaces need to reflect the academic excellence that UC is known for. With the UC Building Revitalization, we are creating an open and supportive campus that will nurture the academic potential and personal growth of every UC student. We envision our iconic spaces feeling like a home away from home, where students can live and learn in comfortable and encouraging environments.

Please donate today.  We need the participation of UC alumni to make this plan a reality for our students.  To learn more about the UC Building Revitalization, including our naming opportunities, call Naomi Handley at 416-978-7482.

Matching Gift Opportunity, The Boundless Promise Program

The new Boundless Promise Program is an endowed fund program for new gifts of $25,000 or more.  Here's how it works: The full amount of your gift will be invested in the University of Toronto endowment, which in turn will generate an annual payout for the award.  The payout amount will be matched by the University each year in perpetuity, thereby doubling the amount that will be received by the student.  This remarkable giving opportunity will make a lasting impact in the lives of our students and the future of our country.

You can designate your award to a specific area of study and can name the award in accordance with the University’s Naming Guidelines.
