Art Installation in Sir Daniel Wilson Quad Encourages Reflection

Next time you walk through University College's Sir Daniel Wilson Quadrangle, be sure to look down...

The quad is the site of a new art installation composed of 130 convex mirrors forming a cirlce. Entitled Wa-Wa and created by the architecture studio Uufie, the work provides a unique perspective in that the act of looking down provides a glimpse of what's above.

Wa-Wa is part of in the University of Toronto Art Museum’s Making Models exhibition, which invited architect and artist collectives to create models of an installation that could transform the quad under the theme “meet me there.”

Selected as the winning entry by a jury of experts, Wa-wa is being displayed in the quad at full scale through November 25. The other eight entries are displayed at the Art Museum's Art Centre location at University College through October 6.
