Scholarships & Awards

This award was donated by Diane Wilson (UC'77) in honour of her parents, Earle and Vivian Pullan. To be awarded to a student enrolled in the Commerce program. Preference to a student in Second Year who has shown an interest in History and/or Politics. 

Gift of the late Edward Blake, formerly chancellor of the University. To be awarded to a student with high academic ability who is entering Modern Language and Literature. Award Value: $60.

To be awarded to University College students pursuing programs in Linguistics, Cognitive Science, or Jewish Studies on the basis of academic merit.

Bequest of the late Elizabeth Ann Wintercorbyn, in the amount of the annual income in recognition of excellent performance in English.

To be awarded to Indigenous students registered at University College on the basis of financial need.

For a student who has achieved excellent results in the Sexual Diversity Studies Program. The Director will be consulted regarding appropriate candidates. Open to all students in the Sexual Diversity Studies Program, regardless of college affiliation. 

From the Estate of Dr. Eric Kruh (UC’46). This merit-based undergraduate scholarship will be awarded to the top graduating University College student who has been enrolled in a modern languages and literature program.

Bequest of the late Evelyn McDonald (UC 1910), preferably, but not necessarily, to provide scholarships in English based on academic merit.

Gift of the late Mrs. N.A. McLarty, in memory of the late Norman Alexander McLarty (UC 1910). Awarded at the end of first year to a student going into a political science and/or economics program, or to a student already enrolled in a second- or third-year program of political science and/or economics. 

Gift of graduates of University College and other friends of the late Professor Malcolm Wallace, former principal of University College and head of the Department of English The award has a value of approximately $2,000 cash with a total possible value of $4,000, for excellence in any subjects or for general proficiency. The scholarships include tuition allowance of $500 per year which is renewable with an annual grade point average of at least 3.50 on a course load of 4 full course equivalents (FCEs) from September to September.
