Travel Awards
Cognitive Science
To be awarded to one or two domestic undergraduate students enrolled in a Cognitive Science major to travel outside Canada to gain further experience in Cognitive Science. Eligible students must demonstrate both financial need and the academic merit of their travel's purpose. Preference will be given to University College students. Preference will be given to students who are Black or Indigenous.

Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies
Two scholarships will be awarded annually on the basis of academic merit; the first to a student with the most distinguished overall academic performance, who is completing his or her graduating year with a Specialist program in Sexual Diversity Studies; the second to an undergraduate completing either a Specialist or a Major in Sexual Diversity Studies combined with an academic interest in the study of politics (through a degree in a politically-relevant program, such as Political Science, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Relations or Equity Studies), or a demonstrated commitment to social justice. Both award recipients will be chosen by the University College Registrar upon the recommendation of the Mark S. Bonham Centre’s Awards Committee. Open to students from outside University College.

Writing Awards
UC Writing Centre
Established in 1948 in memory of Professor Frederic Davidson (UC ’90), the Frederic Davidson Competition offers one prize of $2,000, one of $1,000, and one of $500 annually to any undergraduate student registered at UC, or whose submission is linked to work in a UC program or affiliated Centre, for any type of academic essay. Preference will be given to essays on English or French literature.

Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies
Established primarily to support students in the Sexual Diversity Studies (SDS) Program. Though preference will be given to students in the SDS Program, awards may also be given to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer students enrolled in other programs at the University of Toronto. Although the primary criterion for selection will be financial need based on the requirements of the OTSS program, the Committee may also consider other factors such as a student’s commitment to academic achievement, outstanding volunteer contributions on or off campus aimed at increasing acceptance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people

Established in 1946 in memory of Norma Epstein (UC ’45), the Norma Epstein Foundation Awards in Creative Writing is a competition held annually and is open to students enrolled in University College or to students from other Colleges who are enrolled in University College-sponsored or affiliated courses or programs. Established in 1946 in memory of Norma Epstein (UC ’45), the fund supports prizes of up to a total of $2,000, each year in the categories of Poetry, Drama, Novel, Short Story, and Other Prose.

Financial Need Awards
Gift of Bob Rae (UC '69) and Arlene Perly Rae (UC '71) in honour of Mr. Rae's parents. To be awarded to University College students, financial need will be the primary criterion in selecting the recipients. Financial Need Awards
To be considered for this award, a student must be registered in SDS program and it must be awarded in accordance with the UofT Policy on Student Awards and OSOTF II / OTSS program guidelines. The SDS Awards Committee makes its selection from among applicants on the basis of financial need and merit. Scholarships and awards will be given to students without regard to students’ college membership.
