Established by the University College Committee in honour of C. Warren Goldring (UC 1949). To be awarded on the basis of academic merit to a University College student living in residence.

Bequest of Professor A.S.P. Woodhouse, distinguished scholar and, for many years, head of the Department of English. This award has a value of $1,500 and may be renewable once for a total possible value of $2,700, to a student intending to specialize in English. The scholarship will be renewed in second year, provided that the student attains a GPA of at least 3.50, including an A in at least one course in English.
Should this scholarship not be renewed, a Special Woodhouse Scholarship, of the value of $1,500, may be awarded to a student who has completed first year, including at least one course in English, and who intends to specialize in English.
