Welcome to University College, the founding college of the University of Toronto.
Since its establishment in 1853, University College has been committed to the non-sectarian, socially inclusive education of undergraduate students. University College is the home of Canada's oldest democratically elected student government, the UC Literary and Athletic Society, founded in 1854.
The College's reputations for high academic standards and sustained community engagement continue to inspire our students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends. UC provides student life programming as well as residence, food, library, academic counseling and writing centre services to approximately 4500 Faculty of Arts and Science undergraduates. The College sponsors four interdisciplinary academic programs in the areas of Canadian Studies, Drama, Health Studies and Sexual Diversity Studies, with a combined total of approximately 600 majors, minors and specialists. In addition, UC is the home of the the University of Toronto Art Centre, the Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies, the Centre for Urban Health Initiatives and the Trudeau Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies.
