Every year for Valentine's Day, Phyllis Gotlieb penned heartfelt verses for her husband, Calvin ("Kelly").
Both UC graduates, Phyllis Gotlieb is a successful poet and author, and Calvin Gotlieb (BA 1942 UC) is a distinguished Professor Emeritus in Computer Science at the University of Toronto.
The Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies at University College recently hosted An Evening in Honour of Dr. Charles Pachter. The event was a celebration of the renowned Canadian artist Charles Pachter (BA 1964 UC) and his longtime support of University College and sexual diversity issues.
The UC Canadian Studies program recently hosted The World Needs More Canada: A Celebration of Canadian Scholarship, which honoured U of T-based authors and editors of publications on Canada. The University of Toronto is home to the world’s largest collection of photographs by the late beat poet Allen Ginsberg thanks to a donation by the Larry & Cookie Rossy Family Foundation.
The 7,686 photographs housed in the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library and 236 silver gelatin prints at the University of Toronto Art Centre (UTAC) at University College include portraits of figures as prominent as John Cage, Bob Dylan, William de Kooning, Paul McCartney and Iggy Pop.
Congratulations to Roger Greenberg (BCom 1977 UC) who was recently named a Member of the Order of Canada, for his contributions as a fundraiser and trusted counsellor to numerous charities and educational institutions in the National Capital Region.
