Being a Residence Don or Community Coordinator is a thoroughly rewarding experience. Not only are you able to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students, but you are provided with numerous opportunities to develop such skills as conflict resolution, active listening, and community building.

Every year, University College recognizes outstanding contributions to the UC community by selecting five recipients for the Cressy Student Leadership Award.  The award recognizes graduating students for outstanding contributions in the improvement of their college community and inspiring others to do the same.

University College Alumni Feted at Second Annual Awards Gala

The University College community recently gathered to celebrate some of its most accomplished members at the second annual Alumni of Influence awards gala and dinner, held on November 14, 2013 at the Fermenting Cellar in Toronto’s historic Distillery District.

More than 140 guests, including 18 of the 20 honourees and their friends and family, as well as current UC students and faculty members, came together for the induction ceremony.

UC Student and Women's Tennis Teammate Wins Ontario University Athletics Championships

Congratulations to UC student Aya Bara and her U of T women's tennis teammates, who won the Ontario University Athletics championships last weekend. "This year's win was particularly important to those of us who are leaving U of T after this school year; we have no idea if we'll ever be back. It was a fantastic experience, the girls are tremendous teammates, and it was a well-deserved win for everybody," say Bara, a fourth-year student in history. She is pictured in the bottom left of the photograph below, holding the trophy.

Diabolos' Coffee Bar Now Open!

After a brief hiatus, Diabolos' Coffee Bar is back and better than ever!

Located in the Junior Common Room (JCR) of the main University College building, Diabolos' is a student-run, fair trade, environmentally-conscious coffee bar serving:

  • hot and cold beverages (including fair trade coffee)
  • homemade muffins and other pastries
  • soups, sandwiches, wraps, and other meals
  • vegetarian, vegan, and organic options
