UC Residence: Winter Break Staff Schedule

If you are staying in residence during the winter break (December 21 – January 5), please make note of the emergency phone numbers and the hours that each porter’s office will be open.

If you need assistance during the break, you can visit any of the porter offices’ for assistance when they are open. If the porter offices’ are not open and you need assistance, please call the don on call (phone number is provided) or campus police.

New course in Health Studies for Winter 2013.

The Health Studies program is offering a new course during the Winter 2013 term.

UNI409H1 S – Special Topics on Health Research

The specific content of this course will vary from one year to another, depending on the availability of particular health researchers and scholars. In a given year, the course may focus on AIDS, tobacco addiction, nutritional issues in low-income countries, and the persistence of infant health problems in poor Canadian communities.

UC Establishes Chair in Chinese Canadian Studies with $4 Million Gift

Members of Toronto’s Asian Canadian community gathered at University College on November 28, 2012 for the announcement of a new, endowed Chair in Chinese Canadian Studies.

Established with a $4 million anonymous donation and housed within the renowned Canadian Studies program at University College, the Richard Charles Lee Chair in Chinese Canadian Studies will be held by a rising star who will define the growing and dynamic field.

Principal Ainslie Shares Renovation Plans for UC with The Varsity

Principal Donald Ainslie outlines planned restorations to the historic University College building in the November 19 edition of The Varsity, U of T's student newspaper. The new vision for UC calls for spaces that are suitable for twenty-first century students, while respectful of the College's rich heritage, and includes  a renewed Library in the East Hall, Reading Room in the West Hall, Quadrangle and Croft Chapter House, as well as accessibility improvements throughout.
