UC faculty member Leanne De Souza-Kenney recently spoke on TVO's The Agenda, lending her scientific expertise on the risks of artificial sweeteners after the World Health Organization warned against their use last month.

Dr. De Souza-Kenney is an assistant professor, teaching stream in the College's Health Studies Program. She is the founder of Nutrition and Food Literacy Canada — an up-and-coming international non-profit. Her research focus is on preventable systemic strategies for mitigating health disparities around the social determinants of health for marginalized, underserved, and BIPOC communities.

This fall she will teach HST305H Perspectives in Health, Gender, Ethnicity and Race and HST407H Special Topics in Advanced Health Studies I: Public Health Policy Engagement and Action.
