Gillian Einstein is a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto, Adjunct Scientist at Women’s College Research Institute, and a member of both the Institute for Life Course & Aging and the Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies at the University of Toronto. She is also the Founder of the Collaborative Program in Women’s Health at the University of Toronto, The Wilfred and Joyce Posluns Chair of Women’s Brain Health and Aging, and Guest Professor of Neuroscience and Gender Medicine, Linköping University, Linköping, Sweden.

Dr. Einstein was previously a faculty member in the Department of Neurobiology, Duke University where she founded and directed the first year program Exploring the Mind and was the recipient of the Alumni Undergraduate Teaching Award. She has also been a Scientific Review Officer at the US National Institutes of Health, and the Associate Director of the Centre for Research in Women’s Health at the University of Toronto. In 2010 she was a visiting Professor at Harvard University in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. She was a member of Institute Advisory Board for the Institute of Gender and Health, Canada Institutes of Health Research from 2010-2016 where from 2013-2016 she served as Chair.
