Graduating Students

  • Graduation Checklist

    Students are encouraged to review the Graduating Students page on the central University Registrar's Office website for detailed information on preparing to graduate, the ceremony schedule, what to expect for the convocation ceremony, and more.

  • Request Graduation

    Your eligibility to graduate will be assessed using your current courses on the assumption that you will be successful in them and will meet your degree and program requirements. You can check your degree and program requirements on Degree Explorer.

    The deadline to request Spring 2026 graduation in ACORN is January 31, 2026.  Under the "Graduation & Convocation" option on ACORN, select the Confirm Intent to Graduate button. If you experience any issues requesting graduation, please contact our office at uc.registrar@utoronto.ca.

  • Degree Request / Graduation Cancellation

    The Degree Request/Cancellation form can be used for the following reasons: 

    1. You are unable to request graduation on ACORN
    2. You wish to cancel your graduation request 
    3. You wish to upgrade your Bachelor (3-year degree) to a Honours (4-year degree)

    Once the form is complete, either email the form to uc.registrar@utoronto.ca or drop it off in person at the office.

  • Degree Drop-Down Form

    If you complete all the degree requirements of the Honours degree except the minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 1.85, you can request a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree (BA or BSc). Please submit the completed form to UC's Academic Advising & Registrar’s Office.

  • Convocation Ceremony Dates

    The Spring 2026 Convocation Ceremonies are scheduled to run from June 1 to 19, 2026. Search for your upcoming ceremony on the Convocation Ceremony Search page.

  • RSVP, Guest Tickets, and Gown & Hood Rentals

    All eligible students must RSVP to indicate if they will attend or not attend their ceremony. The RSVP period and dates for the Spring 2026 Convocation will be published on the RSVP & Tickets section of the Graduating Students page on the central University Registrar's Office website.

  • Not Attending Convocation

    Students who are not attending their Convocation ceremony must RSVP "not attending" in ACORN during the RSVP period.

  • Name Changes

    Be advised that your diploma will bear your Record Name exactly as it is shown in ACORN. To view your Record Name, click on "Profile & Settings" on your ACORN dashboard and view "Personal Information" in the profile tab.

    If you would like to change how your name appears on your diploma and in the convocation brochure, you must make the request in advance; otherwise, the name currently displayed in ACORN will be used. Date to be determined for June 2026 Graduands.

  • Graduation Letters

    You can request a letter from the Faculty of Arts & Science confirming your intent to graduate, your eligibility to graduate or to confirm graduation.

    Visit the Office of the Faculty Registrar to request graduation letters.

  • Graduation Photos

    All Spring 2026 graduating students must have their photo taken by Lassman Studios if they wish to appear in the Graduating Class Composite.
     
    You must sign up online to book your appointment:
     
    Click here to book or follow these 2 easy steps:

    1. Visit http://www.lassmanstudios.com/dcs_sched/

    2. Enter uc26 in the school ID to access the schedules.
     
    Find a time that is convenient for you and book.
     
    If you cannot find an appointment that works with your schedule contact questions@lassmanstudios.com to book a session with Lassman Studios directly up until May 9, 2026.

    As per school tradition, professional attire is recommended. This may include either a bow-tie, a flat print tie, a white shirt, or a white blouse.

  • UC Graduating Year Awards

    The UC Graduating Year Awards are intended to encourage and support graduates pursuing further education at the graduate level at any institution.

    To qualify, applicants must be continuing to graduate-level studies in the year immediately following their graduating year. Those studies may be at any postsecondary institution. In additional to the initial application, students must also have two academic references submitted to the UC Academic Advising & Registrar’s Office.

    Detailed descriptions of the awards available and how to apply can be found on the UC website under Scholarships & Awards (Graduating Year Awards). Applications open annually on March 15th. The deadline to apply and have recommendation letters submitted is May 1st annually. Students may only apply in their graduating year. Students who convocated in the preceding fall ceremony and upcoming spring ceremony apply to the same award application.

Join academic, financial, and career advisors to discuss required documents, funding, references, and more!
