Transition and Orientation
Choose from a variety of welcome events and orientation programs for incoming first-year students.
Over the summer, there will be online opportunities for you to connect with your fellow students and get answers to your questions about courses, programs, fees, finances and student life at the college. In late August/early September, register for the full six-day orientation, the two-day academic-focused orientation or just stop by for UC Day – it’s up to you.
Welcome Sessions and Orientation events focus on welcoming you to your new home, helping you connect with other first-year students, and giving you a chance to learn about university life with an opportunity to explore the world-class city of Toronto.
We know that starting University can be exciting and a little daunting. No need to worry, though: our exciting and fun first-year events will help you transition to campus life as you start your new journey. These are experiences that you are sure to never forget.
Our Welcome Sessions will take place in June. Join us at a Welcome Session to hear from your support team at UC, learn about course enrolment and registration, and tour our residences. Make sure to register by the deadline!
Join us for a week-long orientation program filled with events and activities to help you get acquainted with each other, the campus and the city.

University College Commuter Orientation is a weekend-long orientation program that takes place in mid-late August each summer. Commuter Orientation builds a sense of community for incoming off-campus students through social, academic, and extracurricular activities. Meet student leaders, create lasting friendships and memories, and learn how to stay engaged and connected as an off-campus student.
Meet and talk with other new and upper-year UC international students, staff, and international student advisors.
Thrive Orientation is a free two-day orientation program for students looking for a condensed and academically-focused orientation.
Black Student Orientation
Black Student Orientation (BSO) is a week-long series of events created for Black-identifying students from all 3 University of Toronto campuses, faculties, and years of study. Designed by Black students, its purpose is to welcome and support Black students transitioning into university life and finding community on campus. Students can expect engaging panels, wellness spaces, active team games, a variety of food, music, a sunset field trip, and a final outdoor party. From start to finish, this is your chance to connect, learn, and celebrate community at U of T!
While drop-ins are welcome, the BSO registration form will be released mid-July. We look forward to seeing you there!
