Campus: St. George
Professor Cochelin’s scholarly work investigates medieval monasticism, from a socio-religious point of view. Her publications deal with the internal structure, daily life, ideals, and external relationships of medieval monasteries, especially in the 10th and 11th centuries. She is presently working on various collaborative and inter-disciplinary projects with scholars in France, Germany, the U.K. and the United States preparing the editions, translations and analyses of various primary sources from the abbey of Cluny, as well as collected volumes on the medieval lifecycle and entrance into the monastery. She is also preparing a monograph on medieval monastic customaries. She is the co-director of a series of Brepols (Turnhout, Belgium), entitled Disciplina Monastica.
