
Nelson Lee

Professor Nelson Lee is an infectious diseases specialist with almost two decades of experience in researching emerging infectious diseases and pandemics. His work focuses on understanding epidemiology, disease burden, transmission modes, prevention, and the effectiveness of antivirals and vaccines against respiratory infections. His research is utilized by international health authorities to prevent and control epidemic viral diseases. Before joining the Dalla Lana School of Public Health in 2021, he was a professor at the University of Alberta and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he tracked and managed outbreaks of emerging infections such as SARS and novel influenza.
