UC Travel Awards

Selection Criteria

Travel award recipients are selected by the UC Scholarship Committee on the following basis:

  • Academic merit
  • Proposed project’s merit
  • Project feasibility
  • Project relevance to your program(s) of study

Application Submission and Deadline

The Travel Awards application consists of two steps:

  1. This application form
  2. A letter of recommendation emailed to uc.registrar@utoronto.ca from an academic familiar with your program and plans. All letters of recommendation should be submitted by the application deadline.

The deadline to apply for UC's Travel Awards is March 15, 2026.

Please attach your travel proposal. We will only accept PDFs or Word documents (.doc or .docx).

Your proposal should indicate if this is an opportunity offered or sanctioned by the University or one that you are pursuing on your own. You must also include for each award you have selected above a one to two sentence explanation of how your proposed travel meets the conditions of the award(s).

Please attach your travel budget. It is preferred that you follow the provided example budget.
Reference
Please provide the contact information for the referee that will be submitting your letter of recommendation. Please have your referee email directly uc.registrar@utoronto.ca with their letter of recommendation by the stated deadline. Alternatively, you may drop off the letter in a signed and sealed envelope from your referee to the Academic Advising & Registrar's Office in the main UC building, room 157.

Only one letter of reference is permitted and must be from the individual indicated on this form. Unsolicited letters of recommendation will not be provided to the Scholarship Committee for consideration.
