Cyndirela Chadambuka (MA, PhD) is with the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, and is a qualified social worker and a global health researcher whose research interests include trafficking in persons, gender-based violence (GBV), migration, women’s mental health, health policy analysis and child protection. She is also experienced in qualitative research and has extensive research experience in gender-based violence with underrepresented women in low- and middle-income communities. Cyndirela is currently involved in an interdisciplinary research project focusing on barriers to accessing dental care for racialized survivors of intimate partner violence in Canada. She is also leading a policy analysis on the extent to which the needs of migrant women are reflected and addressed in the current GBV-related policies in Canada. She has worked on various projects on GBV, trafficking, migration, and child protection in sub-Saharan Africa. Cyndirela is currently a 2022 cohort member of The GROWW (Guiding interdisciplinary Research on Women’s and girls’ health and Wellbeing) program hosted by the University of Calgary.
