In Course Scholarships
Created by Klaus Goldschlag (UC 1944), in honour of Allan Coatsworth, whose ecumenical benevolence assisted young Jewish Torontonians before and during the Second World War. To be awarded annually to students in University College who have achieved high standing in one or more of the following areas of study: history, philosophy and languages. Awards have a value of $500 and are variable in number.

Bequest of the late Mrs. Helen Shepard in memory of her daughter Ann, a student of Parkdale Collegiate who died in 1928 before entering University; the first scholarship with a value of $400, the second of $300, and the remaining four of $250 each. In making the first two awards, preference will be given to students intending to enter a second-year program in biological sciences.

Canadian Studies
Recipients will be chosen by the Director of the Canadian Studies Program in consultation with the UC Registrar. Awards shall be distributed to undergraduate students who are pursuing courses with a focus in Canadian Studies at the University of Toronto. Awards may be distributed to students for a variety of reasons including: merit based scholarships; unforeseen educational expenses; need based bursaries; leadership and research awards; or other student aid needs as determined by the Committee. Scholarships and awards will be given to students without regard to student’s college membership, faculty or campus.

The David and Vivian Campbell Scholarship in Canadian Studies is awarded to an undergraduate student in the Canadian Studies program who demonstrates financial need. Minor, major or specialist students are equally eligible.
