Public Health/Health Studies Alumni Career Panel - March 14, 2025

Join alumni from the Public Health/Health Studies program for a panel on PH/HST careers! You will have the opportunity to hear from graduates who have built careers in law, public health, research, and more. The panel will be hosted online via Zoom.

Dr. Alexandra Maris has a PhD from the University of Toronto at the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education in collaboration with the Women and Gender Studies Institute. Her research focuses on the intersections of health, sport, tourism, gender, race, and class, with a transnational lens on martial arts training camps in Thailand, Japan, and Brazil. She is currently a Lecturer in the Global Public Health Program at the State University of New York and has also been Visiting Faculty at World Learning and a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Toronto.

Nasma Ashraf is a Project Coordinator at the Health Commons Solutions Lab. She draws from her Sociology and Health Studies background at the University of Toronto and has over five years of experience in community health and non-profit work across Toronto. Nasma is pursuing a Master of Public Health in Health Policy at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.

Ethan Martin graduated in 2021 with an Honours BA in Health Studies from the University of Toronto. He worked as an Underwriter at a multinational insurance firm supporting Group Benefits programs before pursuing a law degree at the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University. His advocacy has been recognized in academic moots and community advocacy. Ethan will return to Toronto in the fall to complete his Articles at a national law firm.

Elida Nexha graduated from the University of Toronto in 2022 with a double major in Psychology and Health Studies. She is completing a Master's in Psychotherapy at McMaster University, working toward becoming a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario. Elida is set to graduate in April 2025.
