Recent UC Grad Jeffrey Fasegha Named Rhodes Scholar

Congratulations to Jeffrey Fasegha (BCom 2020 UC) on receiving a Rhodes Scholarship to study at the University of Oxford next year.
Fasegha graduated from University College in June with a bachelor of commerce in finance with minors in psychology and economics. As a student, he founded the Black Career Conference and was named a UTAA Scholar, among other honours.
At Oxford, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in African studies and public policy with a focus on the innovation economy.
“I thank God for the opportunity to further my research into how we can use innovation as a tool to solve our most pressing problems. I’m immensely grateful to my family, my friends, and to the university for their support throughout the process. It truly takes a village,” Fasegha says.
“University College has been a huge support. [UC Registrar] Ryan Woolfrey helped me out a lot, especially with planning my courses… He was also the one who first put me on the radar for the Rhodes Scholarship process, otherwise I might not have applied.”
Fasegha is currently working on his startup, Fyyne, a platform for hair services where “anyone can make a living with their skills.”
