Simon Lewsen wins a Canadian Association of Journalists award for outstanding investigative journalism

Congratulations to UC Writing Centre instructor Simon Lewsen for winning a prestigious Canadian Association of Journalists Award! Simon is the winner of the Hugo Rodrigues Award for Community News for his feature "The Crisis after the Crisis," which appeared in the magazine The Local.
Simon is past winner of other awards for his journalism, including a Gold Digital Publishing Award (2021) for "A Long-Term Tragedy"and a Gold National Magazine Award for "The End of Articling" (2020).
Simon has taught at the UC Writing Centre since 2012. He will be acting director of the Writing Centre in 2024-25. This will be his second time serving as acting director.
