Dr. Nav Persaud (BSc 2002 UC) is the Canada Research Chair in Health Justice, an associate professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, and a staff physician at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. He recently testified at a US Senate hearing regarding the value of free essential medicines for everyone.  Watch the video of his testimony, where he was introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders. Persaud was honoured with the UC Alumni of Influence Award in 2019.
