UC Professor Smaro Kamboureli in Maclean's Magazine

University College English professor Smaro Kamboureli was featured in a recent article in Maclean’s magazine about the importance of letter writing and staying connected with others, particularly during the pandemic. In April 2020, Kamboureli read a letter in Maclean’s about an elderly man’s love for mail that had been submitted by 95-year-old Stan Smurthwaite. The letter touched Kamboureli, who, along with many others, felt compelled to reach out and write Smurthwaite directly.
