Scholarships & Awards

Founded by subscription in honour of Professor Frederick Tracy; scholarship of the value of the annual income from the fund, awarded to the student who obtains the highest percentage in Grade A standing in an ethics course. 

To assist with the relief of student loan debt for students who have graduated from the Transitional Year Program upon their subsequent graduation from the Faculty of Arts and Science. Preference will be given to those who are graduating from University College but other TYP alumni will be eligible if funds are sufficient. The intention is to provide relief equivalent to one year of a student’s OSAP debt.

These awards were established by the collection of a $3 levy from University College students from September 2005 to September 2010. They are awarded to University College students who have participated in student life or leadership activities in the university community with a preference for activities in University College. Selection is based on the recommendation of a subcommittee consisting of the registrar, dean of students, co-ordinator of student life and at least two members of the UC Literary and Athletic Society executive. In accordance with the requirements of the OTSS program, the primary criteria will be financial need and Ontario residency. Awards will vary in number and value.

To assist UC students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to live in residence. The award must be made in accordance with the UofT Policy on Student Awards and OSOTF II / OTSS program guidelines. Awards will vary in number and value. Supported by donations from University College Alumni and awarded on the basis of academic merit or financial need. Eligible students are automatically considered.

Established by the generosity of the alumni and friends of University College through the Annual Fund (1996-97). These awards are intended to assist deserving University College students with the costs of university education. To be awarded to one or two UC students entering their third or fourth year of study in Fine Art History. Students will be considered based on academic achievement. Preference will be given to students who have completed courses in Asian art history.

To be awarded to the most outstanding graduating student in each of arts, science and commerce.

For excellence in any subject or general proficiency in secondary school. Only awarded when required: if all other renewable scholarships are exhausted.
