Donated by Norman Altstedter (UC'40). To be awarded to University College students who have demonstrated an interest in studying journalism. Recipients mus satisfy the eligibility requirements of OTSS program. Apply using the online grant application available on ACORN. 

Gifted by the Pride and Remembrance Foundation. Preference to students in the Sexual Diversity Studies (SDS) program. Though preference will be given to students registered in the SDS program, awards may also be given to other lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer students at the University of Toronto. The primary criterion will be financial need in accordance with the requirements of the Ontario Trust for Student Support program (OTSS). Other criteria may also be considered, such as academic achievement or outstanding volunteer contributions on or off campus aimed at increasing acceptance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

Bequest of Professor T.J. Meek (UC 1903), distinguished scholar and head of the Department of Near Eastern Studies of which he was a member from 1923 until 1952; professor emeritus until his death in 1966. Variable as to number and value. Gifted by Eleanor Thomson, the wife of Professor Thomson. Awarded to a student in Classics and/or History with financial need. Recipients must satisfy the eligibility requirements of the OTSS program. Apply using the online grant application available on ACORN.

Gift of Bob Rae (UC '69) and Arlene Perly Rae (UC '71) in honour of Mr. Rae's parents. To be awarded to University College students, financial need will be the primary criterion in selecting the recipients. To be awarded to students registered at University College on the basis of financial need. Eligible candidates are identified through the University's UTAPS program.

Gift of Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Paul Sussman and the late Mr. Samuel Smith, of the value of the annual income of the fund, to be awarded to a student, preferably in the fourth year, who is studying English and is in need of financial assistance. To be considered for this award, a student must be registered in SDS program and it must be awarded in accordance with the UofT Policy on Student Awards and OSOTF II / OTSS program guidelines. The SDS Awards Committee makes its selection from among applicants on the basis of financial need and merit. Scholarships and awards will be given to students without regard to students’ college membership.

A bequest of the late Shirley L. Muir (UC 1923), the value of this scholarship is the annual income from the fund. It is for a student with high standing and financial need. Apply using the online grant application available on ACORN.

Established through the generosity of the friends and family of Susan Iannucci (UC '70) to recognize outstanding University College students in the Humanities who demonstrate financial need. Preference to a student in the Specialist program in English.
