These scholarships are a gift from the late Neil D. Graham (UC '30). These scholarships give preference to the students with the highest grade point average in first, second and third year who demonstrate financial need and are enrolled in a science program. Gift of his students, colleagues and friends in honour of Peter V. Marinelli (1933-93), professor of English in University College (1963-93). To be awarded for excellent performance by a University College student enrolled in the specialist program in English.

Bequest of Professor T.J. Meek (UC 1903), distinguished scholar and head of the Department of Near Eastern Studies of which he was a member from 1923 until 1952; professor emeritus until his death in 1966. Variable as to number and value. To be awarded to newly admitted students registered at University College on the basis of academic merit.

Gift of Bob Rae (UC '69) and Arlene Perly Rae (UC '71) in honour of Mr. Rae's parents. To be awarded to University College students, financial need will be the primary criterion in selecting the recipients. Bequest of the late Colonel R.W. Leonard, each of the value of $500. One gives preference to the humanities, one to the social sciences, one to the physical sciences and one is open. (Four scholarships offered in each of first, second, third and fourth years.)

Bequest of the late Colonel R.W. Leonard, to a student of University College in any year, enrolled in at least one full course equivalent in Canadian Studies. Preference will be given to a student enrolled in the specialist program in Canadian Studies.

Bequest of the late Colonel R.W. Leonard to a full-time student of the University College in any year who is enrolled in the drama program.

To be awarded to students registered at University College on the basis of financial need. Eligible candidates are identified through the University's UTAPS program.

The Sally Croll Award for French Study Abroad is a travelling award established by the daughters and friends of Mrs. Sally Croll to honour her lifelong interest in French. The purpose of the award is to allow University College students studying French or knowledgeable in French to go abroad to immerse themselves in a French milieu while pursuing their academic interests. The criteria will be academic merit, financial need, and the merit of the proposal. The award is open to both undergraduates and graduates of University College. It may be used in conjunction with the exchange programs through the Centre for International Experience, as well as Summer Abroad Programs.
