Bequest of the late Miss Catherine S. Michell and Colonel William C. Michell, formerly principal of Riverdale Collegiate Institute. Awards are based on financial need. Academic merit may also be considered. Awards are variable in number and value depending on students’ financial need. Any balance of income may be used for in-course awards of variable value. Bequest of Professor T.J. Meek (UC 1903), distinguished scholar and head of the Department of Near Eastern Studies of which he was a member from 1923 until 1952; professor emeritus until his death in 1966. Variable as to number and value. Gift of Bob Rae (UC '69) and Arlene Perly Rae (UC '71) in honour of Mr. Rae's parents. To be awarded to University College students, financial need will be the primary criterion in selecting the recipients. To be awarded to students registered at University College on the basis of financial need. Eligible candidates are identified through the University's UTAPS program.

The Sally Croll Award for French Study Abroad is a travelling award established by the daughters and friends of Mrs. Sally Croll to honour her lifelong interest in French. The purpose of the award is to allow University College students studying French or knowledgeable in French to go abroad to immerse themselves in a French milieu while pursuing their academic interests. The criteria will be academic merit, financial need, and the merit of the proposal. The award is open to both undergraduates and graduates of University College. It may be used in conjunction with the exchange programs through the Centre for International Experience, as well as Summer Abroad Programs. 

Gift of Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Paul Sussman and the late Mr. Samuel Smith, of the value of the annual income of the fund, to be awarded to a student, preferably in the fourth year, who is studying English and is in need of financial assistance. A bequest of the late Shirley L. Muir (UC 1923), the value of this scholarship is the annual income from the fund. It is for a student with high standing and financial need. Apply using the online grant application available on ACORN.

Established through the generosity of the friends and family of Susan Iannucci (UC '70) to recognize outstanding University College students in the Humanities who demonstrate financial need. Preference to a student in the Specialist program in English. One award for each of Second, Third and Fourth Year. Financial need will be the primary criterion in selecting recipients. Apply using the online grant application available on ACORN.

Gift of Dr. Herbert J. Davis, professor of English in University College and later Prefessor of Textual Criticism at Oxford University, in honour of his wife Mrs. Gertrud Davis.  To promote the exchange of students between University College and German universities.  The scholarship will be awarded to University College students doing university studies in Germany.  Both students in upper years and recent graduates are eligible.

Awards will be made on the basis of financial need demonstrated through the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) or on the basis of information provided by an individual on the award application. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) students from all U of T campuses, faculties, colleges and programs will be eligible, with no preference given to those enrolled in the Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies programs or courses. The awards will be administered by the Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies at University College in accordance with the University’s Policy on Student Awards and decisions about allocation will be made by its Student Awards Committee.  Although the primary consideration will be financial need, the Committee will also consider other factors such as outstanding volunteer contributions on or off campus aimed at increasing acceptance of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered people, as well as academic achievement.
