Community Coordinators & Community Assistants
If you don't live in residence, your community coordinators can be your first point of support. They facilitate activities, events and programs to develop a strong sense of community for Off-Campus Students.
They manage off-campus spaces such as the Commuter Student Centre, and the Clark Reading Room!

What do they do?
Community Coordinators (CoCos) and Community Assistants (CAs) help orient new students to off-campus, commuter, and university life. They connect students with the appropriate resources related to students’ personal, academic, financial, or social concerns. They also foster a mutually supportive and inclusive atmosphere by providing students with programming and events in University College spaces, collaborating with other student groups, and disseminating information about off-campus activities.
When to meet with your CoCos and CAs:
- If you want one-on-one peer support and advice on personal, academic, financial, social, or other matters;
- To participate in engaging programs and meet new people;
- To learn how to get involved in the UC community.

Meet your 2025-2026 Community Coordinators & Community Assistants!
Hi everyone! My name is Ilil and I am a 4th year double majoring in Psychology and Peace, Conflict & Justice and minoring in English. I’m always happy to chat about anything, but especially love discussing books, movies, or cute cafes in the city. I genuinely love meeting and talking to new people so if you have ideas for events you’d like to see, questions about anything U of T related, or you’d just like to talk, please feel free to approach me :). My obsessions include Hozier, orange cats, and making unnecessarily complicated spreadsheets for absolutely everything.
Hey, I’m Jerry! I’m so excited to be one of your CoCos this year! I’m heading into my 2nd year, studying Applied Genetics & Biotechnology and also Health & Disease. As a commuter student, I know how important it is to feel connected—so whether you’re looking for study spots, good food, or general tips, I’ve got you covered! Apart from academics, I love exploring the city, cooking, baking, working out, and figure skating, so feel free to reach out anytime to chat about anything!
Hello, my name is Vivian. I am a third year student studying neuroscience as my major and immunology and physiology as my minors. I have lived in Toronto my whole life and have been a commuter student throughout my time at UofT. I love music, staying active, and exploring the city.
I'm Shirin, a UC Community Assistant this year! I’m a third-year Political Science Specialist and commuter from Pickering. As someone balancing full-time classes, a part-time job, and a long commute, I get how hectic student life can be. Whether you need help navigating campus, accessing student support, or just figuring out where to eat lunch, Come by the CSC; I’m always happy to chat or share what’s worked for me!
Hi there, my name is Avasa and I'm super excited to meet you all! I'm going into my fourth year pursuing a Specialist in Health and Disease. Commuting can be hard sometimes, so if you ever need a listening ear feel free to reach out (whether that be about advice, academics or even the latest Love Island episode). Hope to see you around.
Hey everyone! I'm super excited to be one of your Community Assistants this year! I'm going into my second year studying Pharmacology and Physiology, and I’m always happy to chat about classes, campus life, or just help you get settled in.
