Summer Residence
During the months of May to August, the residences at University College continue to offer all-gender dormitory-style living in historic and modern halls to students from all over the world!

Availability
Applications for 2024 summer residence are now available. For information on availability please contact UC Summer Residence at uc.summerres@utoronto.ca.
Eligibility
To stay in the our residences between May and August, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be at least 18 years of age upon application.
- You must be at least one of the following:
- Current post-secondary student with an active registration status at the University of Toronto
- Recently graduated University of Toronto student (previous active session within the Winter 2024 academic term)
Current high school (i.e. secondary school) students participating in summer programs at the University of Toronto are not eligible to apply for summer residence at University College.
Eligibility
You are required to provide proof of eligibility upon check-in. Applications who do not meet the eligibility requirements will be rejected.

Our Accommodations
Dormitory-style living
You get your own single room, while sharing common facilities with other residents.

All-gender Residences
Our buildings are all-gender residences. You will live with students of all genders in the same building and on the same floors, and you will share the same all-gender washrooms. This approach is consistent with our long history as a welcoming community built on traditions of openness, inclusivity and diversity.

- Our washrooms have private and locking shower stalls and toilet stalls.
- We do not have accommodations with private or en-suite washrooms.

Discounted rates for U of T students
Sessional Rate*
Price for entire session of May 5 to August 17, or 90 nights or more.
- Morrison Hall, Single Room - $3,380 for entire session
- Whitney Hall, Single Room - $3,030 for entire session
All sessional rates include 350 complimentary meal dollars. You can use your complimentary meal dollars at the Cafe Reznikoff
Daily Rate (29 to 89 nights)*
- Morrison Hall, Single Room - $45 per night
- Whitney Hall, Single Room - $40 per night
All daily rates include 8 complimentary meal dollars per night, which is approximately 240 meal dollars per month or 56 meal dollars per week. You can use your complimentary meal dollars at the Cafe Reznikoff.
If you are staying for 29 nights or more, the maximum occupancy that we will charge you is the sessional rate for the same room type.
Daily Rate (6 to 28 nights)*
- Morrison Hall, Single Room - $50 per night + 13% HST
- Whitney Hall Residence - $45 per night + 13% HST
All daily rates include 8 complimentary meal dollars per night, which is approximately 240 meal dollars per month or 56 meal dollars per week. You can use your complimentary meal dollars at the Cafe Reznikoff

Meals and Food Services
Don’t feel like doing groceries, cooking food, or cleaning dishes? UC Food Services offers a diverse variety of healthy and sustainable food and beverage options. Two locations are located at 75 St George St, Morrison Hall.
You can also prepare your own meals in our kitchens/kitchenettes or purchase meals at other food service locations on campus.

Prepare your own meals
Whitney Hall
If you live in Whitney Hall, you can use the kitchens on the ground floor to prepare your own meals. Each kitchen has an oven/hot plate, a shared fridge, sinks and counter space. You must bring your own kitchen cookware and utensils to prepare your meals.
Morrison Hall
If you live in Morrison Hall, you can use the kitchenette in the common rooms on the eighth and tenth floors. Each kitchenette has a shared fridge and microwave. There are no full kitchens with stoves and ovens in Morrison Hall.

Purchase meals elsewhere on campus
The St. George campus of the University of Toronto has several locations where you can purchase everything from a full meal to a quick snack and coffee. View the list online for location hours, addresses and services. The closest full service dining hall that is open during the summer months is the New College Dining Hall at 40 Willcocks St.

Read this first
- After receiving a residence offer you must pay a $200.00 reservation and damage deposit using a credit card on your application. We accept VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover and Diners Club International.
- We will only accept applications if you meet the eligibility requirements above.
- Applications do not guarantee accommodation. We will consider your application based on availability and eligibility.
- We do not assign specific rooms in advance. You cannot request specific rooms.
- We confirm reservations by email only. We cannot confirm reservations by phone.
- Our summer session ends at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 17, 2024. We will not accept reservations for departures after this date.

Reservation, key and damage deposit
All applicants must pay a $200.00 reservation, key and damage deposit upon submitting their application.
- All guests. Your deposit will be credited towards your occupancy fees.

Application instructions
- Login to the Student Housing Application Portal
- After logging in, click on the Summer tab.
- Under the Term Selector, select UC - Summer 2024 to begin your application.
- Complete your application.
- Submit your application.
- Once you have received a residence offer, log back into your application and pay the required $200.00 reservation and damage deposit by the indicated deadline.
- Read and agree to the terms and conditions stated in the Summer Residence Occupancy Agreement.
- Wait for your reservation confirmation email and room assignment.
Arrival and check-in
You can check-in at the front desk of your assigned building.
- Check-in time is 2:00 pm
- Check-out time is 11:00 am

- U of T students can use a valid TCard

Directions by public transit
Take the TTC subway to St George subway station. Leave the station using the St George St exit, not the Bedford Rd exit. Walk south on St. George St towards Harbord/Hoskin St. The UC Residences are just south of Harbord/Hoskin st, on the east side of St. George St.
